Solutions Funded - An Introduction
Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, thrive, and succeed.
Unfortunately, inequities in our society prevent underprivileged children from fulfilling their full potential. Children born or raised in low-income families and communities do not have the same opportunities as their peers with financial privileges. Low-income families tend to have less time to engage with their children and fewer resources with which to enrich their lives. Children with special needs may not have the resources, services, or support they need to keep up. These factors play a significant role in children’s success in school and in life.
Our founders believe that improving access to opportunities and resources for children in need is one of the best ways to promote social change. But our founders also understand how easy it is for those with the means and desire to make change to feel overwhelmed navigating a world of opaque charities where one is never really sure where one’s dollar is going.
To help overcome these challenges, we are pleased to announce the launch of Solutions Funded, a platform where individuals with means can help young people in need through the voluntary redistribution of resources. Solutions Funded enables project-based funding for schools and communities that otherwise would go unfunded and thus unrealized. Teachers, schools, and community organizations can use the Solutions Funded platform to obtain funding for their projects. For those that want to help make a difference, Solutions Funded makes it easy to fund donation-worthy projects that have been vetted by Solutions Funded staff to benefit children in one’s community. Solutions Funded enables contributors the flexibility to donate to individual projects they find compelling or through recurring donations that benefit all of the projects in queue.
While there are other charities that aim to help school teachers raise money for their classroom projects and other needs, oftentimes the burden falls on the teachers themselves to solicit donations from friends and relatives to fund those projects . Solutions Funded takes away that burden and allows teachers and community leaders to focus on the critical work they do for our children.
Of course, many great ideas start with humble beginnings. Our early funded projects include providing equipment for an adaptive P.E. class and providing headphones to enable speech-to-text learning.
